Production blog: Editing!!

Hey guys,

Today I began the editing process for my film! At first, I considered using the After Effects software to edit my film but I decided that it would be easier for me to use what I am already good at and use CapCut. I have also previously used Video Star to edit past videos. So I am considering incorporating that editing app/software into my film but I am still unsure and will figure it out as I go. So for now I decided to begin with inserting half of my scenes from the first day into CapCut in order. After I inserted the clips I cropped the scenes when necessary and went ahead and watched it all together for the first time. I also checked to see if the scenes were all in the right order (which they were). Once I finished watching the film for the first time, put together, I decided to play around with transitions for a few scenes. After playing around with the transitions for a little while I decided to add in a few fade and dissolve transitions throughout the scenes. Once I figured out my transitions for this part of the editing I decided to begin inserting my titles in order. For example, first I entered the name of our studio, followed by the name of the production company. After I added my titles I rewatched the film again to make sure there were not any delays nor glitches. While rewatching the film for the second time I realized that I had a few scenes I had to mute/remove the audio from because they were supposed to be silent. So I muted the scenes that had to be silenced and fixed the audio for the other scenes so the audio would be aligned. After I decided to add in the rest of the scenes from the first day. Following that I repeated the steps I did for the first half with this half. Such as adjusting, cropping, aligning audio, muting scenes, adding transitions, etc. Once done, I decided to add filters and adjust the brightness/colors for the clips to enhance the film . Overall I believe I was very productive today and have made a lot of progress on my final task. I am very excited to see and show you guys my final task! Talk to you guys next time!
