Madelyn Argueta AICE Media Studies Period 6 What conventions of the genre that you chose to base your final task on does this movie have? Some conventions of the genre I chose to base my final task on that this movie has are the costumes and the shots, specifically point-of-view shots. In this movie, the characters wore a casual wardrobe for most of the movie which would make it easier on us when we begin filming to prevent as many extraneous variables as we can. This film includes multiple point-of-view shots which help the audience feel the character's suspense and create an exhilarating effect. When watching this film something that I realized was common in thrillers is when the bad guy turns good. For example, when Timmy was originally a bully but as the movie progressed you were able to see the reason for why he acted that way. I also like the paranoia build-up, normally when watching a thriller there is always someone you suspect or something you feel is wrong that the main character tends to be right about. What elements (Conventions) of the genre did the movie have that you like? During this movie , I realized that while there is some paranoia built up the main characters often find themselves focused on something else rather than the plot. As for the effects found in the movie, I like it and I feel like it showed more realism than the first Craft movie. The ...
