Production Blog: Coming together!

Madelyn Argueta AICE Media Studies Period 6 Hello everyone,     Today I began my first day of editing my music video! The first thing I did when it came down to the editing aspect of my music video wa s open Cap cut . For my music video I will only be using Cap Cut to edit because it is easier for me to use and figure out . Next, I import ed all my clips into my editing software in chronological order . Once I added in all of my clips, I noticed that my music video was too long, so I had to shorten some scenes . The clips I tweaked were when my main character (Justin Bieber) and the love interest go up the escalators, when the main love interest gets up and walks towards Starbucks after studying, and some of the solo dance scene of Justin Bieber . Once I shortened my clips, I noticed it was still a little bit too long . To fix this issue  I decided to keep on editing . But I still noted some scenes that could possibly be shortened a little bit more .   At the e nd I will de

Production Blog: Day two on set!

Madelyn Argueta AICE Media Studies Period 6 Hello everyone,  This week I continued my filming. I continued my filming on Tuesday! My group didn’t end up using any of the takes from Saturday due to the fact of a change in cast and costume. On Tuesday I was very productive and ended up filming my whole music video in one day. On Tuesday I filmed both the scenes I had previously filmed on Saturday and the new scenes I hadn’t gotten to yet. On Tuesday my filming went by quicker and smoother than Saturday. I first filmed all of the retakes and I quickly finished those scenes because I already knew what to do for the scenes when it came down to angles and positioning the actors. Then I filmed the scenes that I didn’t film on Saturday. These scenes took me a little longer because I had to spend some more time thinking about the angles, lighting, exposure on the camera, and where to place the actors. Overall I finished my scenes smoothly and at a faster pace than Saturday. One thing I learned

Madelyn Argueta  AICE Media Studies Period 6 Hello everyone,  A few days ago I started my filming process! I filmed on both Saturday and Tuesday for my music video. On Saturday I gathered up my group at our filming location (set) which was Barnes and nobles. Though that day I did not have very much time to film I got to record multiple scenes. I also got the basic feel for the filming and the music video. I started with the scene of Justin Bieber’s first look at the love interest and when his friend tells him he’s a fool. As I carried on with the scenes I noticed that I began thinking about how to incorporate different shots and angles into the music video. I also noticed that the actors began getting more comfortable when filming my music video. This helped my music video look more natural. Also when I filmed Saturday I grew more comfortable with the camera. I learned how to do clearer shots. Also how to do takes without having the camera shake when doing scenes that follow a certain

Madelyn Argueta AICE Media Studies Period 6 Hello everyone,   Although I have not begun filming, I have everything ready to begin the process of filming. I will begin filming  on Saturday October 21. I have decided to film on Saturday because the weather conditions are in my favor. Also, all the actors in the music video c an all come on Saturday. Additionally, if filming is not finished on Saturday, I will wrap up the last bits of filming on Monday October 23. On Saturday I plan on having the actors rehearse the scenes for about an hour before shooting. This will help the scenes go smoother and seem more natural. Then I will begin filming and film as much as I can before any issues arise such as weather conditions and timing issues. Prior to filming I have completed my storyboards for my music video. My storyboards were developed from the mood of the song’s lyrics and from my research of other similar songs from the same genre. By looking at the song's lyrics

Production blog: Updates about our production!

Madelyn Argueta AICE Media Studies Period 6 Hello everybody,    My group has made so much progress on our music video already! Here are some updates on the progress of my music video production. First off, I have officially cast/found our actors for our music video. In my music video, I decided that one of my group mates (Giovanna) will be playing a role. I have also decided to include a few other friends outside of my group. I found these actors by asking friends if they were capable and willing to film a music video with me and they were happy to be involved. Secondly, to take full advantage of my set I will be using multiple different areas of my location. This will help determine the time and setting/background of the music video. Not only will I be shooting in different areas of the location for different shots, but I will also be using my set to its fullest by including some of the items on set in my music video to use as props. These props will help the actors be seen as part

Storyboard for my Music Video!

Madelyn Argueta AICE Media Studies Period 6 Hello World,   My group and I got to the part of our project where we got to make a storyboard for our music video. Each box is a scene that will occur in our music video in the future, each scene will be a sequence of events.   Box 1: Justin Bieber (JB) is walking into a library with his two friends to study.   Box 2: The three boys walk into the library and JB notices that his crush is studying at the library as well. The girl was studying by herself.   Box 3: When he saw her, he was mesmerized and looked at her as if she was the love of his life. His friends don't believe that anything is going to actually happen between the two of them (the girl and JB), so one of his friends tells him that he's a fool.   Box 4: The girl is studying and minding her own business, she also doesn't notice that JB is there with his friends   Box 5: It is a split screen. On the left, it shows that the girl is studying. On the right, it shows how
