Production blog: Updates about our production!

Hello everybody,

My group has made so much progress on our music video already! Here are some updates on the progress of my music video production. First off, I have officially cast/found our actors for our music video. In my music video, I decided that one of my group mates (Giovanna) will be playing a role. I have also decided to include a few other friends outside of my group. I found these actors by asking friends if they were capable and willing to film a music video with me and they were happy to be involved. Secondly, to take full advantage of my set I will be using multiple different areas of my location. This will help determine the time and setting/background of the music video. Not only will I be shooting in different areas of the location for different shots, but I will also be using my set to its fullest by including some of the items on set in my music video to use as props. These props will help the actors be seen as part of the scene and help emphasize actors and/or point out emotions on something to viewers. Another thing I decided to add into my editing process is adjusting the exposure of the camera when filming. This will vastly improve my video by helping create a certain vibe or mood in a setting. I  will also be adding filters when editing my music video. Since the schedule for filming is tight, the desired weather conditions/ environment for our scenes will not always be in my favor. Next, I have decided that I will be adding in a fading in and fading out transition to begin and end my music video. To go along with this editing as the take fades in the audio of the video will gradually increase. As the take fades out the audios of the video will gradually decrease. With this editing technique, it will help create a feeling of tension rising as the music video begins. It will also help create the feeling of alleviation and/or help less tension. So far, this process has required some extra thought, but it has also been an exciting project I get to work and learn on!
