Movie Research: Murder Mystery Two

The movie that I used for research was Murder Mystery 2.
1. What conventions of the genre that you chose to base your final task on does this movie have?
- A convention that I want to base our final task on is the suspense aspect of the thriller genre. Another convention that I found interesting to base our final task on was the numerous characters that were involved and how it created this mysterious atmosphere where you don't know who's involved or whether the main characters are on the right track to figuring out who did it. I also want to include the same tension builder found in this film, specifically how every time they believed they were getting close to figuring out the truth, something went wrong.
2. What conventions of the genre did the movie have that you liked?
- Something that I really liked was the slow-motion pan that was edited into the movie because it added suspense to the film. I also liked the tracking shots that they filmed because it made me feel as if I was in the actual movie with them. Some of my favorite conventions were the props and costumes. All the costumes matched every occasion whether it was the Indian wedding to the opera to the hotel where they solved the crime. The props were also really good, from the elephant to the knife to the items inside of their villa room.
3. What conventions of the genre did the movie have that did not appeal to you and you are thinking of not filming for the final task?
- Something that I didn't like in the film was the animals on the island wearing diapers, it had nothing to do with the film nor did it add anything to it. Another convention that I didn't really like was the section of the movie where there were many explosions in Paris, it was way too exaggerated and made it unbelievable. One thing that I'm thinking of not filming is the crazy adventure that they had because although it was interesting to watch, everything that happened to them seems so fake which is not our goal.
